Lire en françaisAtelier La Belle Vie is a massage therapy and wellness practice in the Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood of Montreal, Quebec. We offer appointment-based treatments and we take the privacy of the people we care for seriously.
This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website and our booking process, why we collect it, who helps us handle it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to atelierlabellevie.com and to the information we receive when you contact us or request an appointment.
Information we collect
We only collect what we need in order to answer you and to provide the treatment you asked for.
- Contact form: your name, email address, telephone number (optional), preferred language, the type of treatment you are interested in, and the message you write to us.
- Appointments: when you book, your appointment details are collected and processed by Square Appointments, our booking provider. This typically includes your name, contact details, the service and time you selected, and any notes or payment information you provide directly to Square.
- Phone, email and in-person conversations: the details you choose to share with us, including anything you tell us about your health when it is relevant to your treatment.
- Website and analytics information: IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed, the page that referred you, and cookie or similar identifiers, collected through Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel described below.
- Language preference: your English/French choice is stored locally in your browser so the site remembers it. It is not sent to us.
How we collect information
- Directly from you, in person, by telephone, by email or by text message.
- Through the contact form on this website.
- Through our booking provider, Square Appointments, when you reserve a session.
- Automatically through cookies and similar technologies used by our analytics and advertising measurement tools.
We do not currently operate a Meta lead form. If we begin using one, this policy will be updated before it goes live, and information submitted through it would be used only to contact you about the request you made.
Why we use your information
- To answer your questions and respond to your messages.
- To call, email or text you when you have asked us to contact you.
- To schedule, confirm, reschedule and administer your appointments.
- To provide the treatment you requested and to offer good customer service.
- To operate, maintain and protect this website against misuse.
- To measure how our website and our advertising perform, so we can improve them.
- To meet our legal, professional and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
Consent
When you send us a message, call us or book an appointment, you are consenting to us using your information for the purposes described above. For anything outside those purposes, we will ask you first.
You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal, professional or contractual limits — for example, we may still have to keep certain records about treatments we have already provided.
To withdraw consent, to stop receiving messages from us, or to ask us not to contact you again, email atelierlabellevie1@gmail.com or tell us directly at your next visit. We will action the request within a reasonable time.
Health and treatment information
Massage therapy sometimes requires us to know about your health — injuries, pain, medical conditions, pregnancy or medications — so that treatment is safe and appropriate. Information like this is sensitive. We collect it only when it is necessary to provide the service you requested, we discuss it only with the therapist treating you, and we keep it separate from our marketing activities.
Sensitive health or treatment information is never intentionally sent to the Meta Pixel, to advertising platforms or to analytics tools. Those tools measure website and advertising activity, not your health.
Our website contact form asks only for your name, contact details and your message; please do not send detailed medical information through it. Health details are best discussed with us directly or at your appointment.
Cookies, analytics and advertising tools
This website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the site to work; others help us understand traffic and measure advertising.
- Google Analytics (Google Tag): measures visits, pages viewed and general audience information so we can improve the site.
- Meta Pixel: may collect browser and interaction information — such as pages viewed and clicks on our booking buttons — for advertising measurement and campaign optimization by Meta.
- Local browser storage: remembers your language choice.
- Google Fonts: our typefaces are loaded from Google's servers, which means your browser requests a file from Google when the page loads.
Your cookie choices
This website does not yet display a cookie banner, which means our analytics and advertising cookies load when you arrive. You can still control them:
- Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies, or browse in private mode.
- Install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on to stop Google Analytics measurement.
- Adjust your Meta ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings, and use your browser's tracking-protection features.
Service providers and disclosures
We use a small number of trusted providers to run our practice and our website. They receive only the information they need to perform their service for us, and they are not permitted to use it for their own unrelated purposes.
- Square (Square Appointments): appointment booking and payments.
- Meta Platforms: advertising and advertising measurement through the Meta Pixel.
- Google: website analytics and web font delivery.
- Our website hosting and database provider: hosts this site and securely stores contact-form submissions.
- Professional advisors and authorities: only where required or permitted by law.
Because these providers operate internationally, your information may be processed or stored outside Quebec or outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of another jurisdiction. Each provider publishes its own privacy policy, which governs its own handling of information.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, and for as long as we are required to keep it under applicable legal, professional and accounting obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or destroy it securely.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including limiting access to the people who need it, using reputable providers with secured systems, and protecting our accounts and devices. No website, system or method of transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security — but we take our responsibility seriously and act promptly if a problem arises.
Your rights
- Ask for access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Withdraw your consent, where that applies.
- Ask questions about how your information is handled.
- Make a privacy complaint, which we will review and respond to.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request.
